Ellen Anne Schafer (1928 - 2017)

ELLEN ANNE SCHAFER LaCROSSE, IN

Ellen Anne Schafer, 88, of LaCrosse passed away peacefully
in her home on Thursday, January 12, 2017. She was born
February 16, 1928 in Chicago to Henry and Veronica (Hartung)
Weideman and graduated from Bloom Township High School.
She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in LaCrosse
and sang in their choir. Ellen enjoyed participating in the Lake
County Extension Homemakers Club in the 1960's and 70's.
On April 16, 1950 she married Harold F. Schafer and became
a reluctant farm wife who quickly learned to relish country living.
He preceded her in death in 2008. Survivors include their sons:
Myron (Joan) Schafer and Vern (Sherrie) Schafer of LaCrosse,
grandchildren: Season (Steven) Travelbee, Spencer Schafer,
Matthew (Kristen) Schafer, Staci (Bill)Bohling and great
grandchildren: Blake and Brady Bohling and Lucas and
Ryan Schafer.
A visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
at Kosanke Funeral Home, 105 Indiana Ave., Kouts with prayer
service at 2:00 pm. A funeral mass will begin at 10:00 am on
Monday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in LaCrosse with burial
to follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial
donations may be made to the LaPorte County Row Crop Scholarship
Fund or St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Martin's.

Ellen blev gift med Harold Francis Schafer den 16 Apr. 1950. (Harold Francis Schafer blev født den 13 Dec. 1923 i Crown Point, Indiana, USA og døde den 4 Aug. 2008 i Valparaiso, Indiana, USA.)
