RACINE - Geraldine Naleid, 91, of 333 Lake Avenue, formerly of College Avenue, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 11, 1997.

Born in Racine on August 29, 1905, Mrs. Naleid was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Bertha Amman Nelson and a lifelong resident of Racine. She was united in marriage on March 15, 1928, to Lester E. Naleid who preceded her in death in December 1955.

She graduated from Garfield School and Racine High School. Geraldine, a Homemaker, had many hobbies including collecting antique dolls, traveling, and playing bridge. She was a member of Christ-Church United Methodist, United Methodist Women, and the International Federation of Doll Clubs (Badger State Doll Club). Mrs. Naleid was formerly active in the Shriner's Auxiliary, St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, and President of Child Conservation Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Suzanne (Fritz) Larson of Racine, Sandra (Ben) Olsen of Racine, and Penny Naleid (Foster) of Madison; one son, Jon "Jack" (Helen) Naleid of Wilmette, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Michael and Paul Larson of Racine, Becky (Donald) Luedtke of Racine, Wendy Olsen of Racine, Amy (Joseph) Bontempo of Racine, Heather (Christopher) Stull of Warrenville, Ill., Alicia Naleid of Schaumburg, Ill., Erica (Dr. Michael) Hoffman of Lombard, Ill. and Brad Foster of Madison; six great-grandchildren, Becca Larson, Kevin and James Luedtke, Marc and Dan Olsen, and Samantha Bontempo, all of Racine, and Margaret Ann Hoffman of Lombard, Ill.; sister-in-law, Viola Nelson of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; granddaughter, Cynthia Larson; three sisters, Ruth Boldus, Violet Wittke, and Pearl Hay; and two brothers, Fred and Frank Nelson.
