Richard A. Doucette
self-employed roofer

Richard A. "Dicky Doo" Doucette Sr., of East Lancaster Street died
Friday while vacationing in Texas.

He was born in Portland, a son of Frank and Elna Larson Doucette,
and attended local schools.
Mr. Doucette, a self-employed roofer, had served in the Navy in the
Pacific during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Portland Eagles, the Paul Malia American
Legion Post and the Amvets.
His wife, Barbara Thompson Doucette, died previously.
His longtime companion, to whom he was formerly married, was Carol
Valliere of Portland.

Mr. Doucette leaves his mother of Portland; two daughters, Carmen
Doucette of Brunswick and Laura Doucette of West Haven, Conn.;
two sons, Richard A. Jr. of Madison, Wis., and Timothy of South
Portland; two former stepdaughters, Pamela R. Valliere of Portland
and Mrs. David (Penny) Theriault of Portland; three former stepsons,
Erlon G. of Windham, Robert R. III of Portland and Richard D.
Valliere of Portland; a sister, Mrs. Erlon (Donna) Waycotte of
Falmouth; three brothers, Robert of Pottsboro, Texas, Dale of
Falmouth and Mark of Portland; and 11 grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at noon on thursday at Brooklawn
Memorial Park, 2002 Congress St. Arrangements by Hay & Peabody,
Portland.
